The City of Kelso is seeking qualified, highly-motivated candidates for the position of Senior Engineer in our Engineering division. Under general supervision of the Community Development Director/City Engineer, performs professional level engineering work in a lead capacity on a variety of Public Works projects in areas such as utilities, transportation, and storm water. The Senior Engineer may supervise and/or direct the work assigned professional and technical staff. This position requires frequent contact in person and by telephone and a close working relationship with the department heads and associates. The position incumbent works primarily in an office environment characterized by frequent deadlines and constant interruptions but may be required to work in the field occasionally. Mobility sufficient to attend various meetings and visit work and/or construction sites is necessary. Movement within and without the office is essential. Must be able to manage multiple objectives and at times conflicting priorities.
