Seaside, Oregon

Seaside has it all.

Crested near the mouth of the Columbia River, it's truly where Oregon's coastal experience begins. At it's heart, Seaside's expansive two-mile promenade invites you to stroll unencumbered along the panoramic Pacific Ocean. But what makes it unique, is its extraordinary blend of recreational activities, entertainment and culture.
So, whether you're interested in exciting beach volleyball and evening cookouts, golfing, horseback riding, exquisite food or shopping sprees through eclectic shops and galleries. Seaside guarantees you more than just a day at the beach.

Family fun for everyone.

The City of Seaside offers something for people of all ages, and all within a short walk or ride. Our city takes pride in being the premier family destination on the Oregon Coast. Here's just a short list of some favored attractions to experience when you visit Seaside:

In the water…

Surf the wild waves, kayak with sea lions, canoe, fish for salmon, crab for dungeness or relax on a paddle boat.

On the beach…

Dig for razor clams, beachcomb for Japanese floats and other treasures, take a horseback ride at sunset, build a fire and have a cookout, attend our world-class beach volleyball tourney or just drowse contentedly to the rhythm of the Pacific Ocean (but don't forget the sun block!).

And for you land lovers…

Seaside bounds with a varied array of shopping opportunities- from quaint shops to factory direct retailers. Feast on fresh seafood or a juicy steak at any of our fine dining establishments, grab a bag of our famous salt water taffy or enjoy a burger with the works on the Prom(a pleasant place to experience ambiance of a coastal town).

Outdoors

For you wilderness buffs, numerous hikes are available for viewing the ocean form the vantage point of Tillamook Head, spying a Roosevelt elk in our coastal mountains and experiencing the cathedral- like qualities of an Oregon old growth forest.

History

Exciting pursuits exist for those interested in history (Seaside was the final destination of the Lewis and Clark expedition) with designated historical sites and museums. There are parks galore, amusements and arcades that offer a fun evening for young and old alike.

Accommodations, Lodging and Meetings…

Seaside offers a broad range of hospitality featuring nearby state parks, RV camps and lodging for every budget and taste. We also have a Convention Center to accommodate your next meeting with a capacity of 1500.

Culture

Founded near the end of the Lewis & Clark Trail, Seaside is a city brimming with rich Pacific Northwest culture. Should you choose to begin your own expedition, make sure to start it with a stroll along our breathtaking, two-mile Promenade.

Art

In Seaside, fine works of art extend beyond our galleries and museums. Many exist in strolls along the shores of the scenic Pacific coast, peaceful hikes deep within the majestic forests of nearby mountains, or in the graceful beauty of the annual gray whale migration.

In Seaside, your options are many and your cares few. Explore quaint boutiques, dine at your choice of sidewalk cafés or restaurants, discover the aquatic wonders of our aquarium or simply fly a kite with your kids. The choices are many, but deciding is half the fun.
