Engineering
The Engineering department takes great pride in its service delivery.
The City of Kelso Engineering Department is committed
to providing excellence in the delivery of quality
transportation, utility and park and recreation services to its
citizens. This service delivery will be accomplished in a cost effective
and professional manner using the most progressive technological
and personnel resources that can be obtained within the constraints
that are made available to the department through its citizens.
It is the goal of each Engineering employee to reach out and understand
the service level expectations of its citizens and to provide those
services that enhance the quality of life for the
community in which we live.
ENGINEERING SERVICES
The Engineering Department, within the Public Works
Department, provides excellent engineering services for our community,
city council, and city staff.
Engineers, plans, prioritize, and implement the Capital Improvement
Project (CIP) program including project management and inspection.
The CIP reflects the needs and priorities of the City's transportation,
sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water systems throughout the city.
Engineering also develops and reviews master planning documents,
policy, and project proposals, which enables efficient programming
and grant funding.
The Engineering Department works closely with the Planning Department
to complete professional engineering plan reviews for site development
permit applications and approve permit issuance, subdivision plats,
and land divisions. Administer the Development Code, Engineering
Standards and other agency regulations and requirements.
In addition, the Engineering Department provides project design
services for maintenance projects as well as maintains city as-built
and base mapping information for maintenance and public use.
