Fabric Flowers

Supplies Needed in class: scissors, pinking shears if possible, hot glue gun & glue sticks, iron, towel to iron on, wax paper to glue on. Optional floral tape if you want.

Decide which flower you want to make and also bring the appropriate supplies to class.

#1        Large Flower:

  • (1) 5” x 10” rectangle each of 4 fabrics that go together in the same color tone (like 4 blue prints); 
  • (2) 3 ½” squares of yellow fabric & thread to match; 
  • ¼ yard Pellon Peltex-72F double-sided fusible ultra firm stabilizer; 
  • (1) ¼” x 12” wooden dowel; 
  • Optional: (1) 5” x 10” rectangle of green fabric for leaves

#2       Medium Flower:

  • (1) 4” x 12” rectangle of a floral print & thread to match; 
  • (1) 4” x 12” rectangle of solid fabric that goes with floral print; 
  • (2) 2 ½” squares of fabric print that you want for flower center & thread to match; 
  • (1) 4” x 12” rectangle of Steam-a-seam fusible web; 
  • (1) ¼” x 12” wooden dowel; 
  • Straight needle for hand sewing; 
  • Optional: (4) 3” squares of green fabric for leaves
